Oversize and overweight load hauling in northwestern Ontario
Wide, tall, long or heavy. We handle the permits, the routing and the escorts, and it's all in the quote.
The load is the easy part. The paperwork is where jobs die.
Your load is too wide for a lane, or too tall for an overpass, or heavy enough to need its own permit.
Now somebody has to figure out the route, pull the permits, book the pilot cars and check whether the load restrictions are on.
That somebody should not be you.
What makes a load oversize
If your load is wider than a standard highway lane, taller than the clearance under an overpass, longer than a standard trailer, or over the axle weight limits, it needs a permit to move legally in Ontario.
Not sure if your load counts? Call and tell us the dimensions. We'll tell you in a minute.
What we sort out before the truck moves
- 01
Permits. Single trip or annual, provincial and municipal. We pull them.
- 02
Routing. The legal route, not the short one. We check the overpasses, the bridge weights and the turns.
- 03
Pilot cars. Booked and scheduled to your move, not left to chance.
- 04
Restrictions. Half loads come on in spring and shut down routes that were fine in February. We plan around them.
It's all in the one number
Permits, routing, pilot cars and wait time are worked into the quote before we roll.
You get a price, not an estimate that grows.
Where these loads go
Out 17 to Ignace, Dryden and Kenora. Down 11 to Atikokan and Fort Frances. North on 105 into Red Lake and on 599 to Pickle Lake. East through Nipigon to Marathon, and up to Geraldton and Hearst.
Questions people ask about oversize loads
Do I need a permit to move my load?
If it's wider, taller, longer or heavier than the legal limits, yes.
Call us with the dimensions and we'll tell you straight, then pull the permit for you if you need one. You don't deal with the ministry, we do.
How long does it take to get an oversize permit?
It depends on the size of the load and the route.
Simple permits move fast. A route that needs a survey or a municipal sign off takes longer. We'll tell you the real timeline when we quote instead of promising you a day we can't hit.
Do you supply pilot cars?
Yes, we arrange them and they're in your quote.
You won't get a separate escort bill after the fact.
What are half loads and will they stop my move?
Half load season is the spring thaw, when road authorities cut the allowed weight on certain roads to keep them from breaking up.
It can stop a heavy move on some routes. We check before we quote and plan around it, or tell you honestly that it has to wait.
