A loaded Total Trucking flatbed pulling out of the yard at night, ready to roll

Service

Flatbed hauling in Thunder Bay and northwestern Ontario

Steel, lumber, pipe, building materials and crated freight. Tarped, strapped and delivered. Most loads move same day or next.

Your material was supposed to be there Monday

The crew is booked. The concrete is ordered. And the steel is still sitting at the supplier's yard.

You call for a truck and get a voicemail. Or a broker who's going to call somebody else and mark it up.

You need the deck, not the middleman.

What rides on our decks

  • Structural steel and beams
  • Lumber and treated wood
  • Pipe and culvert
  • Rebar and mesh
  • Roof trusses
  • Crated equipment
  • Pallets and bagged material
  • Generators, tanks and skids
  • Modular and prefab sections
  • Reels and cable

Tarped, strapped, and it arrives the way it left.

Weather up here doesn't ask. If your load needs tarps, it gets tarps.

Chains and binders for steel and machinery. Straps for lumber and crated freight. Edge protection so the straps don't chew your material.

We photograph the load before we pull out, so there's no argument later about how it was secured.

Step deck when it won't fit under the bridges

A standard flatbed sits high. Add a tall load and you're into overpass trouble before you leave town.

A step deck drops the floor, so you get more height to work with without a permit. If your load is close to the line, tell us the height when you call and we'll put it on the right trailer.

Where we deliver

Thunder Bay, Kenora, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Fort Frances, Atikokan, Marathon, Nipigon, Geraldton, Red Lake, Pickle Lake and out to Hearst.

Questions people ask about flatbed loads

Do you tarp loads?

Yes, when the load needs it.

Lumber, drywall and anything that can't take weather gets tarped. Tell us what it is when you call and we'll price it in rather than surprise you with it.

Can you pick up from my supplier instead of me?

Yes. Give us the supplier's address, a contact and the order number.

We deal with their shipper directly so you don't have to stand in the middle of it.

How do I know what my load weighs?

Your supplier's paperwork will have it, and that's the number we need.

If you genuinely don't know, tell us what it is and roughly how much material. We'd rather work off an honest estimate than a guess that puts the wrong trailer on the road.
